Sample clients and projects

Deborah Grace Poetry — Book and cover design for The Mother Ship, a poetry book. Website development.

The National Geographic Society — Interview research and journalistic writing for a "geotourism" map and guide that promotes appropriate, sustainable tourism in the region surrounding Yellowstone National Park. Our involvement in this project also entails web design and project promotion.

Wildlands CPR — Research, writing, editing, and publication design on a case-study-based document outlining strategies for effective enforcement of off-road vehicle use on U.S. public lands. Six Strategies for Success is publicly available, and is also being used within the U.S. Forest Service to assist with ongoing travel planning efforts.

National Parks Conservation Assocation and Greater Yellowstone Coalition — Collaboration with economists and other researchers to produce public reports documenting economic changes in areas of Montana and Wyoming, and the importance of public lands and natural areas. These reports (Gateway to Glacier, Gateways to Yellowstone, and World-Class Assets) were used to promote dialogue among community leaders about conservation and economic advancement.

North American Association for Environmental Education and National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education — Preparation of national guidelines for environmental education in schools and nonformal educational settings. Harbinger guidelines address the preparation of instructors, classroom learning standards, and preparation and selection of instructional materials. The guidelines have been used extensively by state education agencies and environmental education associations; schools, universities, and other educational organizations; and curriculum developers.

Businesses, universities, and community organizations — Brochures, articles, and other writing and editing projects.

Celebrate Billings, Billings Gazette — Research, writing, and graphics preparation for a tabloid insert on funding for local government services. The insert was included in the Sunday edition of a large, regional newspaper, and was used as the basis for discussion at a gathering of more than 300 business, government, education, and community leaders.
